eco-literate wine lab

This private wine lab located just outside the heart of downtown of Sonoma was designed by local architect Lars Langberg. The clean lines of the main house, shop, and guest studio flow seamlessly into the natural food forest garden.

The home is surrounded by a small boutique vineyard and intentional habitat gardens, providing year-round insect habitat, enhancing the health of both the vineyard and the local environment.

A mix of succulents and California natives were used to anchor the architecture and simultaneously accent the simple lines providing a soft and interesting interface.

Concealed throughout  the site, careful, subtle grading allowed us to move and percolate rainwater, protecting streams, reducing irrigation needs, and recharging groundwater.
