Elgaria

Elgaria is an eco-ranch in West Sonoma County transforming degraded soils and developing perennial food production systems through ecological grazing solutions, perennial grassland restoration, Silvo pasture, and food forest installations.

Elder Creek provided the original overall land planning, Infrastructure planning, 50k gallon water storage and ranch water distribution systems, rainwater detention basin design and engineering, creek restoration management, plant and irrigation design.

Bruce Antognini, ranch manager, along with ranch ownership, provided high-level partnerships in design and implementation.

The photos here are of the phase 1 implementation of trail systems and the wild gardens in the upper food forests.  These gardens are intended to mature into a self-fertilizing, self-pollinating, self-mulching, food production system modeled after forest ecosystems.  Within the gardens are linked detention basins catching 10's of thousands of gallons of water off the road annually and percolating it into the soil.
